How do you accumulate points?

In Showdown, your point total determines your position on the leaderboard. Here's how points are accumulated:

  1. Winning Selections
    • When your selected horse wins a race (leg), you earn points.
    • Points awarded are equal to the Best Tote odds for that horse.

  2. Place Selections
    • You also earn points if your selected horse places (usually 2nd or 3rd, depending on field size).
    • Again, points awarded are based on the Best Tote place odds.

  3. Best Tote Odds
    • "Best Tote" refers to the highest dividend offered among the major totalizators.
    • This system ensures you always get the best possible point value for your selections.

  4. No Points Scenarios
    • In races where there is no official place dividend, only the win selection earns points.
    • If your horse doesn't win or place, you receive no points for that leg.

  5. Accumulation
    • Your total points are the sum of all points earned across the legs.
    • Both wins and places contribute to your overall score.

  6. Leaderboard Position
    • The more points you accumulate, the higher you'll climb on the leaderboard!
