Which Tote is used to calculate points?

In Showdown, we use the Best Tote system to calculate your points. Here's what you need to know:

  1. Best Tote Explained:
    • "Best Tote" means we use the highest dividend offered among the three major Australian totes.
    • This ensures you always get the most favorable odds for your selections.

  2. The Three Major Totes:
    • TAB (Victoria)
    • NSWTAB (New South Wales)
    • UBET (Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania & Northern Territory)

  3. How It Works:
    • For each race, we compare the dividends offered by these three totes.
    • The highest dividend among them is used to calculate your points.
    • This applies to both win and place dividends.

  4. Point Calculation:
    • If your horse wins, you receive points equal to the Best Tote win dividend.
    • If your horse places, you get points equal to the Best Tote place dividend.

  5. Advantage for Players:
    • This system maximizes your potential points for each correct selection.
    • You benefit from the best odds without having to check multiple totes yourself.

  6. Consistency:
    • The Best Tote system is applied uniformly across all Showdown participants.
    • This ensures a fair playing field for all entrants, regardless of their location.

Remember, while the Best Tote system gives you the highest possible points for your correct selections, it's still crucial to pick winners and place-getters to climb the leaderboard. Good luck in your next Showdown!
